Position Opening:

Executive Director of the Thirtieth Judicial District Domestic Violence-Sexual Assault Alliance Inc.

The Alliance, a non-profit regional coalition of agencies serving victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and elder abuse, is seeking an energetic leader to serve as Executive Director. This person will be responsible for the overall management and administration of Alliance programs and personnel. The Executive Director serves as the main source of continuity and contact for the organization. This person will be responsible for developing, implementing, directing and coordinating programs and activities. He or she will be responsible for fiscal oversight, and must have a full understanding of organization finances, goals, budgeting and cash flow. The person must be adept at preparing local, state and federal grants and at working collegially with representatives from funding agencies. The Executive Director collaborates and coordinates work with agencies and organizations across a seven county area comprised of Haywood, Jackson, Macon, Swain, Cherokee, Clay and Graham Counties in Western North Carolina. The office is based in Waynesville, N.C.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or commensurate experience in public administration, human resources, criminal justice, law or other related human services field.
  • Operational knowledge and experience in non-profit fiscal management and budgeting, grants writing and fundraising.
  • Understanding of or experience in domestic violence, sexual assault or crime victim services.
  • Demonstrated administrative abilities that include working with non-profit board of directors and staff, strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, working well as a team member, ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines, experience with staff and board development, knowledge of Western North Carolina resources and challenges in delivering victim services.
